Quality and Purity

We get a lot of emails from people asking how we can sell propylene glycol and vegetable glycerin at such low prices without sacrificing quality. The answer's pretty simple: we buy a heck of a lot of liquid, enough that it's measured in tonnes instead of litres, and we get great volume pricing from our suppliers.

But there's more to Base Drop than just pure dollars: it also comes down to pure liquids.

Our vegetable glycerin is 99.5% pure USP Grade, and our propylene glycol is 99.8% pure BP Grade.

USP Grade means that our vegetable glycerin is of a sufficient purity to meet or exceed the requirements of the United States Pharmacopeia.

BP Grade is the British equivalent of USP Grade and means that our propylene glycol meets or exceeds the requirements of the British Pharmacopoeia.

Achieving USP Grade or BP Grade means that a product is suitable for food, drug, or medicinal use, and is of high enough quality to be used for laboratory purposes where purity is essential.

We source our propylene glycol and vegetable glycerin from reputable suppliers who have strict quality controls in place. Each supplier we work with is required to have fully accredited ISO-9002 and HACCP compliant production facilities to ensure that there's no chance of impurities or contamination in the final product.

As always, if you have any questions about quality, or comments about Base Drop in general, feel free to drop us a line any time, we'd love to hear from you!
